Another history of Ilha "Formosa"(Taiwan).
My father pastor"Koike Shozo" has been Taiwan(1935-1946) as a president of Karenko-seikyoukai church(花蓮港聖教会). This church was very poor then many pastors can stay few years. But my father stayed over 10 years. Taiwan was under-control of Dainipponteikoku(大日本帝国). but Taiwanese , Taiwanese aborigine and Japanese lived together with peace and could communicate in Japanese.

After the end of Edo-jidai Era , many evangelists came Japan. This made many christians in Japan and made japanese evangelists. Some of them were sent to Korea , China , Taiwan , Brazil ,US and Canada as evangelist.
Also my father Koike Shozo were sent to Taiwan Karenko-seikyokai Chruch as evangelist . This church was oppressed by Shukyokesshakinsirei-Reguration(宗教結社禁止令) based on Chianijiho-Law(治安維持法). After the World War 2 ,this church was sellected office to return Japanese to Japan(日僑管理委員会事務所). This allowed my father to bring pictures of Taiwan in Japan.
My father dead in october-2000. Now I wirte this article based on my fathers note "Dear Megumi. This is very Important thing".

Toyosenkyokai Holiness Kyokai Church was establised in 1917. Koike Shozo was born in 1907. He went Kamisuwa Holiness Kyokai Church in 1924.
From the Note >> Mr.Takahasi Shunzo told in his predict that "You will see the difference between believing and no-believing in 50 years". But I think "it's roo long".
He admitted to Kasiwagi Seisyo Gakuin School of Theology(March 1932) and He had an experience of holiness(May 1932). He admitted to Tokyo Seisyo Gakuin School of Theology(March 1935) In 11-September-1935 He was send to Urizura Kyokai Church, and this year 13-December , he get a postcard from Office of Holiness Church.
From the Note >> Go Taiwan Karenko Kyokai Church. Come Yodobashi Kyokai Church and get tickets. Board Taiyomaru-ship from Kobe port 26-december.

In 26-December , I was not told about Karenko's atmosphere and details of Karenko Kyokai. I and my wife and my daughter got on "Taiyomaru" with my friend pee-bag.
In 27-December , This ship arrived at Monjikou port.
In 28-December Morning, I was asked questions by police.
"What is it?" He said with looking at my handkerchief.
"This is my handkarchief wiht my pee." I answerd.
"Where are you going to?" he asked.(This question was asked yesterday.)
"I go to Karenko." I answered.
"What is your purpose?" he aseked.
"For Evangelical mission." I answered.
"Go your room." he said.

This affair made me decide to take care of my words. And We were tailed.
In 29-December morning we arrived at Kirunkou port.
On this port Mr.Oosawa Toyosuke pastor was waiting of my arrived. And he invited us to Hotel of Kusatsu. After dinner,he told me.
"Mr.Koike Mr.Koike Did you hear someting about Karenko from Mr Obara(pastor of Yodobasi Kyokai church and the tresury of Seikyokai Holiness Church)."
"No. I heard noting." I answered.
"Karenko kyokai church is very poor, and mebers of this church posted a mail to office and refuse any pastor without 40YEN financial aid.
So Mr Obara answer to Karenko church. We send a pastor without financial aid.
You are trusted. Do your best." he said.
In 31-December Morning ,we got on trains from Taipei and got off at Suo Station.It took 3 hours. After one hour waiting ,we got on a bus. CA told us that lake was told Taiwanese aborigine washed heads of human they killed. Traffic was very bad.We were not able to sit down without pee-bag. Marine side of this marine road is a precipice. The other side of this road is falmland of Taiwanese aborigine. 5 hours riding brought us Karenko. It took 9 hours to travel from Taipei to Karenko. Mr. Kobayashi Kimio the tresury of Karenko Seikyokai Holiness Church waited us.

From the Note>> I arrived at Kirun port in 29-December-1935. There was Mr. Oosawa Toyosuke pastor. And he invited us to a hotel. In 31-December-1935 I arrived at Karenko Kyokai Church.
Some one said "Karenko look like Japan because many of house Japanese-style." and some one said "Karenko is isolated island on land because traffic is so bad."
Evangelical mission has been started Mr.Nakada Juji pastor since 1925.
My family caroled at Kuroganedori street. Taiwanese aborigine was tought Japanese from Japanese so we could communicate in Japanese. 300 years ago,Taiwan was under control of Netherland, so somo of them with blue-eyes. Evangeling to Taiwanese aborigine was banned but was acqiescended on the land.

Thank you for your kindness to read "Another History of Ilha Formosa(Taiwan)". These words are familliar with me,because I hear many times from my grand-father.
Since the dawn of history, there were many wars. But some specific wars are discussed.
Taiwan is "Ilha Formosa" with blue-eyes people.
Now Wars are. Now Oppression are. But Peace is too Noble to rob by Wars or Oppressions.
